The 2015 Annual Conference – What’s Now – Insights and Directions will be held from October 28 – 30, 2015 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The conference features plenary sessions, seminars, workshops, panel discussions and an industry exhibitor show. Meet some of our featured speakers below!
Plenary T1 – Fluidity and Architecture
Josh is the Vice President of Business Development at Kreysler & Associates, a world-class composites fabrication facility. He has been at K&A since 2005 and has spent most of his tenure as Director of Digital Fabrication, managing the digital and CAD/CAM aspects of their operations. He has developed an expert understanding of composites, and is at the forefront of AEC industry efforts to advance their architectural potential. Josh holds a Master of Architecture from the University of California Berkeley.

Kelly Edzerza-Bapty Intern Architect AIBC
Plenary T2 – Architecture of Place
Kelly was born and raised in Inuvik and Hay River in the N.W.T. and the northern tip of British Columbia, in Fort Nelson, she has lived and traveled across much of Canada’s Northwest. A member of the Tahltan First Nation of Telegraph Creek, Kelly is a recent Graduate from the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture MArch program at U.B.C., and the second woman of First Nations descent to graduate from this program.

Rick Linley M. Arch, MAA, FRAIC, PMP, LEED AP
Plenary T3 – Designing Practice / Practicing Design
Rick is an architect registered in Manitoba and since 1985 has specialized in practice and project management. A principal with Smith Carter Architects and Engineers for 18 years, 14 of which he served as the firms’ Chief Operating Officer, he helped shape the operating model of the firm to accommodate a six fold increase in revenues. He retired from practice in 2013 but got restless. He recently launched Strong Practice Strategies, a management consultancy focused on helping emerging and evolving design firms to strengthen their practices.

Plenary T4 – Disruptive Trends
Steven is the world’s leading thinker at the nexus of architecture and urban cycling. Having announced the importance of each field to the other with his internationally acclaimed book Cycle Space he has gone on to give keynotes and plenaries at such prestigious forums as the Centre for Architecture in New York, the Netherlands Architecture Institute and the European Cycling Federation’s annual event, VeloCity. He consults with parties ready to treat cycling as a mainstream mode of transportation.
