Lunch and Learn Seminars
As part of its ongoing educational seminars for architects and designers, BC Wood is pleased to offer the AIBC Vancouver Island Chapter a Lunch & Learn session consisting of two one hour seminars on BC wood products:

Seminar 1: “Timber Frame and Architectural Timberwork”

  • The seminar will provide architects with an overview of traditional timber frame construction and heavy architectural timberwork focusing on best practices for specifying timber and joinery. Both traditional wood joinery and emerging joinery systems will be covered.  Seminar will also discuss Structural Insulated Panels (SIP’s) as a practical option for enclosing timber framed buildings

Seminar 2: “Innovations in Laminated Veneer Lumber”

  • Mass Timber Construction is the hot topic of late in multi-story wood construction. The seminar will give a short overview of the currently available products for mass timber construction and introduce LVL.
