Notice to Architects and Associates: Proposed Council Rulings – Associate Status Disclosure
February 6, 2015
At its January 2015 meeting, AIBC Council passed a motion to establish regulatory requirements for associates providing independent services in the exceptions. Building on the recommendations from the Associates Task Force, council is proposing new council rulings for inclusion in the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. These rulings would require associates to: (1) notify clients of their associate status and whether insurance is in place prior to offering independent services; and (2) notify authorities having jurisdiction of their associate status if any submissions are necessary. The proposed rulings are found here: Proposed Council Rulings – Associate Status Disclosure.
In keeping with Council Policy 12.2, members and associates are given at least 30 days’ notice regarding any proposed council rulings.
Architects and other registrants are invited to provide feedback on these proposed rulings.
Feedback received will be provided to council prior to its vote on these rulings, expected for the March 10 council meeting.
