Women in Architecture

The Value of Beauty.  Can you see it? -Understanding the Interrelationship Between Architecture and Light

Join Galina Zbrizher, Principal of Total Lighting and Solutions, for a discussion on integrated design and the interrelationship between architecture and light. Galina’s work is recognized by numerous international illumination design awards.  She is a former Director on the Board of IALD and current Chair of the IES Hospitality Facilities Committee and one of key authors of Design Guide for Hotel Lighting. In more detail, the presentation will discuss how to achieve symbiosis between light and architecture.  The form of architecture is entirely reliant on the presence and quality of light; there is no form without light. Learn how by varying presence, quality, direction and intensity of light, the shape, character and meaning of architecture can be redefined and how to influence the space, reveal shapes, texture, color and create emotional response to the space by choosing how to define mass as form with light.
