50TH Anniversary of Architect Wolfgang Gerson’s Unitarian Church of Vancouver – Sept 14

Celebrating a Vancouver Architectural landmark, join the 50th Anniversary of Architect Wolfgang Gerson’s Unitarian Church of Vancouver.  The Panel and forum will take place Sunday, September 14th at 1:00pm at 49th and Oak St.

Acclaimed as one of Vancouver’s most beautiful buildings the church has served Unitarians and the community for half a century as a centre for spiritual enquiry, for arts and culture, for environment and social justice issues and as a civic gathering place. Join architects Erika Gerson and Kate Gerson, Rev. Phillip Hewett (Minister involved in the planning), Clive Justice (the original landscape architect), Dino Rapanos (retired UBC School of Architecture and colleague of Wolfgang’s) and Donald Luxton (cultural and heritage consultant) in this memorable review of a remarkable community asset. An exhibit accompanies the program.

The City of Vancouver has proclaimed September 14th as the “Unitarian Church of Vancouver Heritage Campus Day.”
