Heritage 101: Introduction to Heritage Conservation
In 2014 VHF will offer a new format for Heritage 101 over two nights. You must attend both nights to receive credit for the course. This workshop introduces the foundations of heritage conservation practice, and talks about how heritage is regulated at the City of Vancouver Heritage Department as well as across Canada, and the tools and standards used. Instructors will discuss why conservation is important economically, culturally and as a green approach to sustainable communities. This course is taught by Senior COV Heritage Planner, Marco D’Agostini, Heritage Consultant, Don Luxton, and Heritage Educator Judy Oberlander. This course is required for the VHF Certificate in Heritage Conservation and is offered once a year. Taking place Wednesday February 26th and Wednesday March 5th, 5:00pm – 9:00pm, at the Vancouver Heritage Foundation (#402 – 510 W Hastings, Vancouver). Cost for this 2 day course is $130.
