The Yale Hotel

Brent Beatson of Rize Alliance will give a talk on the restoration of the Yale Hotel that included a complete renovation of the SRO suites, seismic upgrading, and the refurbishment of the mechanical systems, the famous blues venue and the 1950′s neon. The original 1883 Yale Hotel hotel began as a CPR bunkhouse, survived the 1886 fire, and was refurbished as The Colonial Hotel in 1889. Brent will talk about the 2011 Heritage Revitalization Agreement that made the hotel restoration possible, & included the addition of the neighbouring apartment tower.
