November Council Meeting

Presentation House Gala & Auction

A reminder that Presentation House Gallery will hold its annual gala and benefit auction on Saturday, November 23, 2013. This year’s event will showcases the creative talent of leading Vancouver visual artists, designers and architects, who have been invited to interpret Italian designer Enzo Mari’s iconic Sedia 1 chair. Their responses to this unique challenge will then be auctioned in support of the gallery. Participants include Innes Yates Architect AIBC and John Wall Architect AIBC, as well as designer Omer Arbel, designer/visual artist/writer Douglas Coupland and artist Brian Jungen. The event, which takes place at Secret Location at 1 Water Street in Gastown, will feature a live auction and conclude with a seated dinner. During the evening, Presentation House Gallery will also be unveiling designs for its spectacular new purpose-built facility on the North Vancouver waterfront, designed by the Patkau Architects. Council Resignation

AIBC Council Member Michael Green Architect AIBC has resigned from council effective November 2, 2013. As per the provisions of the Architects Act, AIBC Council has begun a process to appoint an architect in good standing as a replacement for the duration of his elected term, which expires in May 2014. The Act requires this appointment to take place within 30 days of the resignation.
