Update: Consensual Resolution Bylaws

On May 7, 2013, architects and honorary members voted 96% in favour of proposed new consensual resolution bylaws 36.0 through 36.22. Under the Architects Act, notice of bylaw changes must be sent to the provincial government within seven days of passage. It then has 45 days to review such bylaws and consider whether to disallow them.

In anticipation of the “disallowance period” lapsing on June 24, 2013, the institute will be issuing a role call for its Consensual Resolution Review Panel in the near future. The proposed bylaws call for the review panel to include as many as five architects and two public members. Any architects and members of the public interested in serving on the panel are invited to contact the AIBC for more information. Please direct inquiries to Illegal Practice & Professional Conduct Coordinator Jackie Buchan at jbuchan@aibc.ca or 604.683-8588 Ext. 316.
