President’s Message: Next Council Election

It’s election time, and not just on the provincial front. Right now, candidates reflecting the diversity of the profession are needed for the next AIBC Council. The deadline for entry is April 25, 2013, with the election results to be revealed as part of the next annual meeting on Saturday, June 1, 2013.

I already know what you must be thinking: We all have busy lives … why take on anything more? And why get involved in something as seemingly contentious as AIBC Council? The simple answer is, because it matters.

We are a self-regulating profession that relies on the voice of the profession to guide its future direction, supported by a team of quality staff members. A position on AIBC Council provides an opportunity to focus your energies on certain priorities that matter to you personally as well as the future of the profession. More..

SALA Projects _ 2013

You are invited to view SALA Projects _ 2013, a design completion for students in the University of British Columbia’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. The official opening of this two-week exhibition takes place Friday, April 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. It will then run from Saturday, April 27 to Friday, May 10, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. daily. The location is 211 East Georgia Street (Georgia and Main), Vancouver.

Early Registration for 2013 Festival of Architecture

A reminder that registration is now open for the 2013 RAIC Festival of Architecture, with early-bird rates available until April 30, 2013. This year’s festival, presented in association with the Nova Scotia Association of Architects, takes place June 5-8, 2013 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel and Convention Centre.
