Fenestration Association of British Columbia

NAFS And The 2012 BCBC: The New Omnibus Fenestration Standard Workshop

The 2012 British Columbia Building Code references a new standard for fenestration performance by introducing new concepts and terminology. It also enables architects and specification writers to specify product quality and performance attributes with greater precision. The performance requirements for these listed fenestration products are covered by a single standards document: AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-08 – NAFS – North American Fenestration Standard/Specification for windows, doors and skylights. This standard specifically addresses “commercial” windows and doors used in Part 3 mid-rise and high-rise buildings. This half-day workshop will introduce architects, engineers, specification writers and commercial glazing contractors to the standard, and explore some ways it will affect the selection, rating and performance verification of fenestration products. It takes place Tuesday, January 29, 2013, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Guildford Hotel, 15269 – 104th Avenue, Surrey. Includes a buffet breakfast and lunch.
