Role Call: AIBC Registration Board

The AIBC is seeking architects interested in joining its registration board to assist in carrying out the registration and licensing of architects and other registrants in accordance with legislation, council-approved policy, and council-approved agreements (such as with external stakeholders and partners). The AIBC Registration Board also provides advice to AIBC staff on issues and questions brought forth for consideration; reviews and coordinates the work of those committees and representatives reporting to the registration board; recommends the development of polices; prepares, when requested, such policies for council’s review; identifies initiatives and strategies to assist practitioners in the area of registration and licensing; and fulfills such tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Executive Director and AIBC Council. The registration board meets once per month, usually the last Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the AIBC, with interim e-mail and telephone meetings or exchanges to ensure workflow. The board is particularly interested in members who have completed the AIBC’s Internship in Architecture Program and who are newly registered by the institute. If you are interested, please submit an expression of interest along with a curriculum vitae or brief summary of professional background. For further information or to submit an expression of interest, please contact the Manager of Registration and Licensing Joan Hendriks Architect AIBC at (604) 683-8588 x305 or jhendriks@aibc.ca.
