Why You Need Inspection Services – AWMAC, MFCSI and MPI
The Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada’s Guarantee and Inspection Service (GIS) is a national program designed to ensure clients/owners get value and quality for their money. Projects covered by the GIS benefit from the expert guidance and direction of independent, highly qualified industry specialists. In this presentation, AWMAC GIS Certified Inspector David Christian will explain what this program covers and how it ties into the Architectural Woodwork Standards. In addition, Chris Maskell of the Master Floor Covering Standards Institute will introduce the newly-launched quality assurance program for floor coverings. He will discuss the top three reasons why floor coverings fail, give some examples of recent flooring problems and explain how the Floor Covering Reference Manual and quality assurance program combine to ensure successful floor installations. Finally, Dave Lick of Master Painters and Decorators Association Specification Services will discuss how MPDA deals extensively with architects and specifiers to fine-tune and update painting specifications. Inspectors deal with coating problems in general, as well as providing recommendations for correction.
