Exotic World of Bombay Art Deco: Presentation & Indian Buffet
Join Heritage Vancouver and the Canadian Art Deco Society for an evening exploring the Art Deco architecture of Bombay, India. Bombay contains a treasury of commercial, residential and public Art Deco architecture created during the 1930s and 1940s. This first generation of modern Indian architects, influenced by current fashionable trends, were eager to imbue the city with a new modern image. Navin Ramani, author of Bombay Art Deco Architecture, A Visual Journey 1930-1953, will provide insights into this fascinating and little-known history. It takes place Tuesday, November 20, 2012, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Atithi Indian Restaurant, 2445 Burrard Street, Vancouver. The evening will conclude with a full-course Indian buffet.
