B.C. Representation at Prairie Design Awards

Three Vancouver-based firms came away with honours at the recently-announced 2012 Prairie Design Awards. In the Recent Works category, Bing Thom Architects shared an Award of Excellence with Calgary-based Marshall Tittemore Architects for the SAIT Polytechnic Parking Garage, while an Award of Merit went to DIALOG with Busby Perkins+Will for the Energy Environment Experiential Learning Building at the University of Calgary. In all, seven awards were presented in the categories of Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Recent Works and Small Projects. Selections were made by a jury that consisted of David Battersby MAIBC along with Bruce Allen (Arcop Group, ) and Diana Gerrard (GH3, Toronto). The Prairie Design Awards, a coordinated effort of the Alberta Association of Architects, Saskatchewan Association of Architects and Manitoba Association of Architects, are held every two years to celebrate new standards of creativity and skill in architecture and interior design within those three provinces.
