Kasian Collects Sustainability Awards for UBCO Projects

Two buildings located on the Okanagan campus of the University of British Columbia, both the work of Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning Ltd., have been for given top marks for energy and environmental performance. Both the Charles E. Fipke Centre for Innovative Research and the campus’s Arts & Sciences Building have been awarded five Green Globes™. Developed in Canada and administered by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the Green Globes is an online auditing tool that recognizes buildings that improve environmental performance in the areas of management, site, energy, water, resources, emissions and indoor environment. These are the first campus buildings to attain the top-level five-globe distinction as well as the first paired buildings to be so honoured.
