IMAGINiT Technologies – Autodesk Revit BIM Management for Architecture, Structure and MEP

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an approach to the entire building life cycle. Autodesk® Revit® Architecture, Autodesk® Revit® MEP, and Autodesk® Revit® Structure are powerful BIM programs that support the ability to coordinate, update, and share design data with team members throughout the design, construction, and management phases of a building’s life. The objective of the Autodesk® Revit® 2012 BIM Management for Architecture, Structure and MEP training guide is to enable those who have worked with the software to expand their knowledge in setting up office standards with templates as well as creating custom element types and families. Participants will learn how to:

  • Create custom templates with annotation styles, title blocks, and custom element types
  • Create schedules including material takeoff schedules with formulas
  • Create custom wall, roof, and floor types
  • Set up a family file
  • Create family geometry
  • Create family types; and
  • Create specific families including in-place families, profiles, annotation, and shared parameters.

Prerequisites: Participants should be comfortable with the fundamentals of Autodesk® Revit® as taught in the Autodesk® Revit® Architecture 2012 Fundamentals, Autodesk® Revit® Structure 2012 Fundamentals or Autodesk® Revit® MEP 2012 Fundamentals courses. Knowledge of basic techniques, such as creating standard element, copying and moving elements, and creating and working with views, etc., is assumed. This two-day session is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, December 12 – 13, 2011  8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Suite 15, 10551 Shellbridge Way, Richmond. To register, visit
