Certified Professional (CP) Course – Sold Out
The Certified Professional (CP) Course being offered by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. from September 2011 to February 2012 is now sold out. Those wishing to be place on a waiting list may do so by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. The CP course, delivered on behalf of the City of Vancouver and the City of Surrey, covers detailed application of divisions A, B and C of the 2006 BC Building Code and the 2007 Vancouver Building By-law. The course also provides an overview of the administrative procedures for operating as a CP in Vancouver and Surrey. It is open to anyone to attend. However, strong knowledge of Canadian building code regulations and experience in the building construction industry are assets to successful completion of the course. A short update session will be required in order to practice under the upcoming 2012 editions of the local codes. Also, in order to practice as a CP upon successful completion of the course, registration as an architect (with the AIBC) or as an engineer (with APEGBC) is mandatory.
