International Award for Oberlander

The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) has selected AIBC Honorary Member Cornelia Hahn Oberlander as recipient of its Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award for 2011. This is the federation’s highest honour, recognizes a living landscape architect whose lifetime achievements and contributions have had a unique and lasting impact on the welfare of society and the environment and on the promotion of the profession of landscape architecture. This year’s selection acknowledges Oberlander’s life-long commitment to, and achievement in, all aspects of the profession. Of particular note was her demonstrated professional commitment to environmentalism and sustainability. As a female pioneer in the field of landscape architecture, Oberlander has been associated with innovative and acclaimed projects worldwide for more than six decades.
